Long ago, the sorcerer, Morakin, bargained with a fey creature asking for powerful magickal knowledge. The fey requested that if Morakin could bring him a beautiful bride, then great power would be granted. The fey took the bride and, in return, gave Morakin a book containing a single complicated spell. The fey and his bride-to- be then disappeared.
 
Recently, the mage, Novius, sought to learn the power of the book. He located the temple where he believed the book to be found.
 
After Novius went missing, his apprentice, Phaela, went to the temple, but was driven away by the animated tree that is in the center of the main temple. She is now willing to pay with gold, scrolls, and magick items for a party to enter the temple and retrieve the spell book.
